چکیده

Dear Editor, We read with interest the article of Chou et al. (1). The authors reviewed the multidetector computed tomography (CT) findings of congenital coronary sinus anomalies and reported two cases of coronary sinus anomaly. We would like to share our observations, with respect to coronary sinus anomalies, with our colleagues. For better clinical outcomes, coronary venous variations should be recognized in the pre-operative planning of numerous cardiac surgical interventions (2). Thus, attention should be directed on the coronary venous anatomy as well as the coronary arterial system. We encountered coronary sinus anomaly in two patients who underwent coronary CT angiography. In the first case, the right atrial coronary sinus ostium was atresic (Fig. 1). Hypoplastic persistent left superior vena cava, great cardiac vein, median cardiac vein,

Coronary Sinus Atrial Septal Defect (Unroofed Coronary Sinus) with Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection—A Case Report

Introduction: To present a rare occurrence of coronary sinus atrial septal defect (ASD) associated with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC). Case Report: A 16-year-old girl was diagnosed with features of an atrial septal defect (ASD) by transthoracic echocardiography and the absence of PLSVC (persistent left superior vena cava) connection to coronary sinus was confirmed by salin...

was hypertrophied. The case illustrates the most severe degree of subaortic obstruction that may result from anomalous attachment of the mitral valve to the ventricular septum. Also present vere multiple spleens, and other cardiovascular anomalies. The last included junction of a persistent left superior vena cava with the left atrium, absence of the coronary sinus, absence of the limbi of the ...

A simple method to ablate left-sided accessory pathways in a patient with coronary sinus ostial atresia and persistent left superior vena cava: A case report

Introduction Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome is characterized by a short PR interval, wide QRS complex, and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. An accessory atrioventricular connection is known to be the underlying mechanism of this syndrome. Accessory pathways (APs) are mainly located along the tricuspid or mitral annulus, accounting for 10%– 20% and 50%–60% of cases, respectively. M...

Echocardiographic features of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection to the coronary sinus.

Six infants with anomalous connection of the pulmonary veins to the coronary sinus were studied with single crystal echocardiography. The posterior left atrial wall echo was identified by its continuity with the left ventricular posterior wall echo during a sweep from the left atrium to the left ventricle. In five of the six infants an echo-free space measuring 7 to 9 mm was identified behind t...

Echocardiographic Features of Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection

Seven patients, four months to ten years of age, with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) were studied by echocardiography. The diagnosis was confirmed by cardiac catheterization, angiography, and surgery in each. The connection was to the left vertical vein in four patients, to the coronary sinus in one, to the inferior vena cava in one, and directly to the right atrium in one....
